Unsuccessful fourth-down run call not diminishing confidence for Polamalu, Bruins

LOS ANGELES – When Kennedy Polamalu called for a run on fourth-and-1 from the Utah 47, he did so in hopes of building confidence on offense. It didn’t go as planned.

Bolu Olorunfunmi was stopped for a 1-yard loss, but Polamalu said it hasn’t done much to deter the UCLA offense’s hopes for Thursday’s game against Colorado.

“I think confidence-wise and the way these young men are working and enjoying being together, I think you’ll see some progress here against CU,” Polamalu said.

UCLA called just 10 runs against Utah and four of those plays went for zero or negative yardage.
