UCLA's TJ Leaf sprains ankle against Washington

LOS ANGELES – TJ Leaf injured his left ankle badly enough that UCLA’s leading scorer and rebounder didn’t play the final 35 minutes of Wednesday night’s game against Washington.

He was diagnosed with an ankle sprain and was to be reevaluated after the game.

Leaf’s ankle appeared to buckle when he landed on the foot of Noah Dickerson after blocking the Washington forward’s shot less than five minutes into the game.

Leaf was on his back under UCLA’s basket until a whistle stopped play after a Bryce Alford 3-pointer 13 seconds later.
