The UCLA women’s volleyball team opened its season yesterday afternoon by defeating the Gonzaga Bulldogs, 3-1, at the John Wooden Center. The teams meet again this afternoon and admission is again free.

The first set was dominated by UCLA. After Kyra Rogers scored the first point for the Bruins, the Bulldogs took their only lead of the set by scoring consecutive points. Redshirt freshman Alexis Light tied the set back up at 2-2 and that started an 8-3 run for the Bruins and they didn’t look back.
