On Tuesday evening, it was announced that UCLA softball’s redshirt junior Rachel Garcia won the USA National Player of the Year Award.
This is the second consecutive year that the Bruin has won the award and is only the fourth softball player to win the award multiple times. It is also the third time a member of the UCLA softball team has won the award.
This is quite the year for Garcia as she recently won the Pac-12 award for both Pitcher and Player of the Year. She also made the All-Pac-12 First Team, her third time making the prestigious list.
