PASADENA – Before it worried about the winning streak necessary to salvage a bowl appearance this season, UCLA needed to snap a lingering losing streak.
After snapping its four-game skid with a 38-24 win over Oregon State Saturday night at the Rose Bowl, UCLA can cling to hope for a chance to play its way into a bowl with two more victories to end the season, beginning with next week’s rivalry game against USC.
Fifth-year senior Mike Fafaul started his fifth consecutive game in place of injured quarterback Josh Rosen and the UCLA defense forced three turnovers, including an interception Randall Goforth returned 40 yards for a touchdown that sealed the win with 2:14 to play.
