UCLA seeks consistency against Arizona State

UCLA has had flashes of brilliance on all sides of the ball throughout its first five games, but now the Bruins want brilliant moments together in one game.

“When we do things right, we’re pretty tough to deal with,” linebacker Jayon Brown said.

“When” is the big word for UCLA (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12). The moment when the offense, defense and special teams are working in tandem hasn’t come yet.

There’s no secret recipe, as quarterback Josh Rosen said, but it’s also not just luck that makes everything happen suddenly, receiver Darren Andrews added. The thing that gets all three phases to click lies somewhere between game-week preparation and game-day execution.
