LOS ANGELES – In Jordan Payton, UCLA lost not only its all-time leader in receptions, but the Bruins also lost a key leader on offense. Receivers coach Eric Yarber is waiting for a replacement to step up, and Kenneth Walker III believes he can be the one.
“Coach Yarbs expects a lot out of me to lead the group and to keep the whole thing positive,” Walker said Thursday after practice. “It’s kind of easier this year because I know the offense a little bit better. I’ve been up there studying with Coach Yarbs, and a lot of the young guys look to me to help them out like JP (Payton) used to do for us.
