Kennedy Polamalu will not return to UCLA next year, the school announced Sunday, one day after the Bruins’ season ended with a 36-10 loss to Cal.
The first-year offensive coordinator and third-year running backs coach will not have his contract renewed after overseeing one of the worst offensive seasons in recent UCLA history.
“I want to thank Kennedy for his hard work, dedication to the program and commitment to our student-athletes,” head coach Jim Mora said in a statement. “He is a professional in every sense of the word.”
Polamalu handled play-calling responsibilities for the first time in his career this season after he was promoted to offensive coordinator during the offseason.
