Kennedy Polamalu’s scheme has outgrown its label as “new” at UCLA. It’s six games old after another listless performance in a 23-20 loss to Arizona State on Saturday, so call the UCLA offense what is is: underwhelming, inefficient, or, as Coach Jim Mora said, “putrid.”
UCLA’s lackluster offense is a main culprit as to why the Bruins (3-3, 1-2 Pac-12) are in fifth in the Pac-12 South.
“Our defense is playing very hard for us,” receiver Jordan Lasley said. “We can’t leave them hanging like that. We have to do better.”
The optimism of summer bred expectations for a Pac-12 Championship game berth.
