PASADENA – During training camp UCLA coach Jim Mora compared tight end Nate Iese to NFL greats Jerry Rice and Cris Carter. After a lackluster start to the season in the passing game, Iese showed why his coach spoke so highly of him.
The senior tight end was UCLA’s top receiver in the team’s 22-13 loss to Stanford on Saturday, catching five passes for 89 yards and one touchdown.
Quarterback Josh Rosen missed Iese running wide open toward the end zone in the first quarter, but the quarterback paid the tight end back with a 10-yard touchdown pass five plays later on third-and-5.
