LOS ANGELES – UCLA doesn’t need a Turkey Bowl when it has a Scout Bowl.
The Bruins held their annual Scout Bowl during Wednesday’s practice, in which the scout team players participated in a live scrimmage. The team usually reserves the tradition for Thanksgiving Day, but moved it up one day because the Bruins won’t have a padded practice Thursday.
“It’s not a glamorous job so we give them a chance to go out and compete live and tackle and throw it,” Coach Jim Mora said of the tradition. “Everybody’s live and it gets the juices flowing.
