UCLA has little celebrate during 96-85 loss to Arizona

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Day belonged mostly to the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion.

UCLA’s loudest home crowd of the season was mostly muted in the final minutes besides a few “U of A!” chants emanating from hardy Arizona fans who savored the No. 14 Wildcats’ 96-85 victory over the No. 3 Bruins.

Kobi Simmons scored 20 points and Lauri Makkanen punctuated his 18-point effort with a massive putback dunk over TJ Leaf in the final minute to help Arizona (18-2 overall, 7-0 in Pac-12 Conference play) hand UCLA (19-2, 6-2) its first home defeat of the season.
