UCLA football team re-energized for Texas A&M season opener

UCLA started fall practices Aug. 8 with what Coach Jim Mora called one of the best first days of training camp of his tenure. He continued the sentiment for the next four weeks, regularly praising his team’s energy, focus and camaraderie as he felt the rekindling of a dwindling competitive fire.

“I don’t believe that anybody in our program was satisfied with the way last year finished,” Mora said. “I think being competitors, like we all are, it just kind of reignites a passion and a motivation and a level of commitment that maybe for some reason had subsided a tiny bit.
