UCLA Football Recruiting: Two Linebackers Commit to the Bruins

Former University of Texas linebacker Caleb Johnson and junior college transfer Mitchell Agude have both committed to UCLA.

Johnson, who is originally from southern California and played at Fullerton College, transferred to Texas and practiced with the Longhorns throughout the spring and summer. He previously suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Fullerton, and was limited during practice throughout part of spring ball. He participated in fall camp, but never actually saw the field during the 2019 season. Johnson entered the transfer portal in mid-September, and committed to UCLA just two weeks later. Sources said he was never quite comfortable on the team, and the added frustration of zero playing time certainly had something to do with his desire to play elsewhere.
