PASADENA – No.18 UCLA had never lost a game when leading at halftime under Coach Jim Mora.
The Bruins were 31-0 in that scenario since Mora took over in 2012, but that streak came to an end late Saturday night with a 31-27 loss to Washington State in front of an announced crowd of 76,255 at the Rose Bowl.
The Bruins, who led 16-14 at halftime before falling behind by eight points early in the fourth quarter, seemed like they might survive the scare thanks to a scintillating play from freshman quarterback Josh Rosen.
The Bruins got the ball back at their own 20-yard line when sophomore safety Jaleel Wadood intercepted a Luke Falk pass in the end zone with 3:13 left.
