LOS ANGELES – About 10 minutes before UCLA was set to kick off against Arizona State two weeks ago, sophomore cornerback Nate Meadors went down and senior safety Randall Goforth stepped up.
After practicing at safety, Goforth played in Meadors’ cornerback spot against ASU. The following week, he prepared for corner, but shifted to nickel against Washington State when Marcus Rios went down.
By constantly shuffling positions, Goforth is UCLA’s do-it-all defensive back, a fifth-year senior with a little bit of unfinished business in Westwood.
As UCLA lost a record six early entrants to the NFL draft last spring, Goforth stayed.
