The Rams have picked up the fifth-year option on All Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald for the 2018 season.
The question now is, how much will it cost them to keep the dominant lineman in Los Angeles long term?
Barring Donald and the Rams working out a long-term deal before next season, he is slated to make $6.9 million in 2018.
Ideally, though, the Rams would like to lock him up long term before it gets to that point. The 13th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Donald has emerged as one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL and would instantly become one of the most attractive players on the open market should he become an unrestricted free agent after the 2018 season.
