Decades removed from high school, and Diane Masseth-Jones still remembers her prom as a “landmark” milestone in her life.
Now CEO of YWCA North Orange County, Masseth-Jones and a committee of others help teenage girls enjoy theirs.
Last month, the local chapter welcomed several dozen high school seniors at Fullerton First United Methodist Church to experience the thrill of preparing for prom night.
Teens at the 10th annual Prom Project event chose formal dresses and accessories, were pampered by make-up artists and hair dressers, and had professional portraits taken on a red carpet-styled runway.
“It was magical,” Masseth-Jones said.
