Northwood’s baseball team got some timely hitting and a complete game effort from senior David Kotin to defeat University, 4-1, in a Pacific Coast League game at University Tuesday afternoon.
Kotin (1-2) struck out five and allowed three hits to notch the win.
Sam Cachola was 2 for 3 with a two-run single in the sixth inning and Kyle Choi was 2 for 3 with two RBI to lead Northwood (8-9, 3-3). Julian Tristan had two hits and scored two runs for Northwood, which had eight hits.
Kotin gave up a run in the first inning when Andie Masotto singled, stole second and came home on a groundout by Nick Wetzel.
