Happy 242nd Birthday, America!

In the past, I’ve noted how the Declaration of Independence would likely be posted to a blog and gone viral if the internet had existed in 1776.

Well, it didn’t exist then.

And, it would be nearly 200 years before society advanced technologically enough to see the creation of the internet at, of all places, UCLA on October 29, 1969.

But, that doesn’t change the fact that the Declaration of Independence remains one of the most important documents in the history of civilization.

And, it also doesn’t change the fact that each and every American should probably consider reading the Declaration of Independence every year on the Fourth of July as a reminder of what led to the founding of this great nation.
