LOS ANGELES – One catch and 17 yards was all it took to sell Josh Rosen on Caleb Wilson.
Last Sunday, one day after UCLA’s loss to Texas A&M in which Wilson had one reception for 17 yards, Rosen told the former USC tight end to expect the ball more in the future, starting with UCLA’s home opener against UNLV on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Wilson is a 6-foot-5, 235-pound target with soft hands. His ability to consistently catch the ball during fall camp wooed Rosen and his coaches into giving him more playing time, though it will come at the expense of fellow tight end Nate Iese.
