Lucas Tancas (Capistrano Valley High, Irvine Valley College) had a two-run double in the second inning and a three-run home run in the eighth as Long Beach State’s offense erupted in a 10-1 nonconference victory over No.15 UCLA on Tuesday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
The top of the order set the pace for LBSU (3-1), as Garrett Hampson (2 for 4, double), Cypress High product Jarren Duran (2 for 4) and Tancas (2 for 3) combined to score six runs and drive in seven. No.9 hitter Joey Sanchez (Orange Lutheran) also went 2 for 5 and scored twice.
