Bruins get back on track with victory over UNLV

PASADENA – Old offenses die hard for the UCLA football team.

After spending the offseason preaching physicality in a power-running offense, the Bruins resurrected shades of their old spread offense to tally their first win of the season, a 42-21 victory over UNLV on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.

Through three quarters, UCLA threw the ball 57.1 percent of the time against UNLV. By the end of the game, 15 different receivers had at least one reception. Although the new offense was expected to put quarterback Josh Rosen under center more, he took 13 of the team’s first 14 snaps from the shotgun after the Bruins mounted their 15-point comeback against Texas A&M last week while operating out of the shotgun.
