LONG BEACH – The stories poured out one after another, as those who knew Jack Haley best traded harrowing tales of a life well lived, a spirited journey that began on the beaches and in the swells of Southern California and ultimately led to UCLA and the NBA. It was a life that, exactly one month ago, was cut short at 51, due to the effects of heart disease.
