Winless UCF counting on walk-ons as impact of NCAA sanctions lingers

As Chris Johnson sprinted down Tulane's football field looking to score one of the longest touchdown receptions in UCF history, coach George O'Leary screamed at him about ball security from the sideline.

"Tighten the ball up!" O'Leary yelled.

A few seconds later, two Tulane defensive backs stripped Johnson of his 62-yard reception and punctured the air from the Knights' lungs. The turnover sparked a nose dive for UCF and the team suffered a 45-31 loss to the Green Wave. It was the Knights' first loss to Tulane since 2006.

Johnson was on track for a 77-yard touchdown, which would have tied for the No.
