When Gus Malzahn became the head coach at UCF in February, he made it clear he wouldn’t be afraid to recruit against top Power Five programs.

“We’re going to recruit like our hair’s on fire,” Malzahn said at his introductory press conference. “We’re going to go after the best players in America and we’re not backing down to anybody. We’ve got a lot to offer here and we’re going to put together a staff that will be able to do that.”

The “monster move,” as 247Sports Southeast Recruiting Analyst Andrew Ivins said, could help UCF recruit on a level similar to FSU, Florida and Miami, who are commonly known as the “Big Three” of the Sunshine State.
