A single question rang through the UCF football team's visiting locker room before players faced their doom at the hands of Temple Saturday.
"Who's gonna make the first play?"
Defensive back Shaquill Griffin was one of the first players to raise his hand. Moments later, he raised his hands again to snatch an interception and ran back an 80-yard touchdown for UCF.
It was the team's first interception after six long and arduous losses without a single turnover in the air forced by UCF's embattled secondary.
"I've been hungry for that a long time. I know the big thing was turnover, turnover, turnover," said Griffin, who collected just the second interception of his college career.
