UCF penalty issues are OVERRATED! | Commentary

Even though UCF won by more than three touchdowns last week at East Carolina, there was much consternation among Knight Nation about the school-record 19 penalties, including four consecutive false-start flags to begin the game. Obviously, last week was a bit of an aberration, but I believe UCF’s penalty issues are way overblown.

In many instances, great football teams commit numerous penalties because they are often playing faster, harder and with more reckless abandon than their opponents. There might not be program in America that plays as aggressively on both sides of the ball as UCF.

On defense, Randy Shannon’s unit flies to the football, takes chances and focuses on creating turnovers.
