UCF named John Roddick its new director of tennis Sunday, adding a veteran coach with national recognition to its staff.
Roddick, the brother of tennis star Andy Roddick, just wrapped up his seventh season as head men's tennis coach at the University of Oklahoma. He led the Soooners to three consecutive runner-up finishes at the NCAA tennis championships and won Intercollegiate Tennis Association coach of the year honors in 2014.
He will inherit a UCF program poised to make a big step up with the opening of the U.S. Tennis Association training center at Lake Nona.
