The UCF basketball team is set to tip off a season like no other thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Knights were set to play a truncated nonconference schedule starting with Oklahoma Saturday, but the game was postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing among the Sooners.
As a result, UCF (0-0) will tip off the season against Auburn (1-1) on Monday at 7 p.m. in front of a limited capacity crowd at Addition Financial Arena. The game will be streamed online by ESPN+.
“Guys have been practicing hard and long and they’re ready to face someone else,” said UCF coach Johnny Dawkins, who is starting his fifth season leading the Knights.
