It might seem premature for a season-opening college football loss to trigger a dramatic, man-in-the-mirror moment.
For a UCF football team knocking on the door for a Power 5 conference invite, however, self evaluation can't happen quick enough with just days to prepare for a cross-country trip to a Stanford team still licking its wounds from a loss to Northwestern.
"It was very eye-opening for us and it made us re-address ourselves, look in the mirror and really realize we have to put some things together and make some improvements," UCF senior H-back Cedric Thompson said.
The Knights, who rushed for just 46 yards against Conference USA's FIU and registered zero sacks, know they have a lot of technical issues to address in all three phases of the game.
