UCF defense prepared for fast-paced Cincinnati

It's a good thing UCF cornerback Shaquill Griffin likes to run. After all, Griffin and the rest of the Knights' secondary knows they will be locked in a track meet of sorts when they face off against Cincinnati at noon Saturday.

Three of the top 10 receivers in the American Athletic Conference wear Bearcats uniforms and the program also ranks third in passing yards per game (354) behind Tulsa (364) and Memphis (358).

"This challenge is mostly with the receivers," Griffins said. "I know last game, [Houston] tried to run the ball mostly on us and now [Cincinnati is] putting more on the secondary because they're a spread offense and now we're ready to take that up there and show them that we can play and we can defend the ball and that's what we're working on this whole week.
