Scott Frost's love of golf should have been a dead giveaway to his close friend and former Nebraska teammate Matt Davison that UCF would be an ideal coaching job.
During their annual golf trip to Arizona last year, Frost mentioned the Knights program as one of the more attractive opportunities during a friendly conversation about potential job openings in 2015. Frost, who served as a respected Oregon assistant coach since 2009, always had plans to lead a college football program one day.
"He and I are both golf junkies, so I gave him the big endorsement to move to Orlando because both our handicaps are going to go down," Davison chuckled.
