Mike Aresco understands why Danny White left UCF to become the new athletics director at the University of Tennessee.
But the American Athletic Conference commissioner balks at the idea White’s departure had anything to do with the Knights maxing out their potential.
“I think Danny left for an opportunity to rebuild a storied program,” Aresco said. “… But in terms of UCF, to say they’ve reached a ceiling or this league has reached a ceiling is really missing the forest from the trees.”
White accepted the job as the Volunteers athletics director last week, departing UCF after five years.
