The commitment of Nebraska high school quarterback Noah Vedral has a bit of a storybook appeal to it.
A little-known star — to those outside his home state, of course — from tiny Wahoo, Neb., (population 4,508) raised in the middle of Cornhusker country, pledges to play his college football under the guidance of former University of Nebraska star quarterback Scott Frost, who was a high school star himself at little Wood River (population 1,325) High.
But it actually took more than Frost’s Nebraska pedigree to sell Vedral on becoming a Knight.
You see, Vedral didn’t exactly grow up as a Cornhusker fan.
