Richie Grant grew up passionate about football and like many kids who play the game, he saw football as a means to an end for himself and his family.
And nothing fueled Grant’s ambitions more than watching the NFL draft and seeing the reactions of players like himself after hearing their names called and fulfilling their lifelong dreams.
“I always remember them coming on stage in those fancy suits and they’ve got those caps on and they’re holding up the jerseys of the teams they’re going to and hugging [NFL commissioner] Roger Goodell,” recalled Grant.
He hopes to become the latest UCF player selected when the 2021 NFL Draft kicks off Thursday in Cleveland.
