American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco believes the league is knocking on the door of the autonomous conferences thanks in part to the strong showing on the football field by teams like UCF.
“We’re not that far away and I believe we’re going to get there,” Aresco said during his remarks at the AAC Football Media Day Tuesday. “It’s a matter of time.
“We will never settle for second-class status, we will never accept a silly non-power designation, we will continue to fight, we will never surrender to the naysayers, who will always be with us.
