IOWA CITY, Iowa – Led by senior Luke Traynor's first-place finish, the Tulsa men's cross country team finished second at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships Friday at Ashton Cross Country Course, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The TU women's team finished sixth.
Traynor won the individual regional championship in the 10K with a time of 30:18.5, three-tenths of a second ahead of Joshua Thompson of Oklahoma State. Traynor, junior Ben Preisner, senior Henry Pearce and junior Adam Roderique finished in the top-12. The Golden Hurricane compiled 89 points, placing second behind Oklahoma State, which totaled 64 points.
