BEAUMONT, Texas – The University of Tulsa Softball team split a pair of games on day two of the Cardinal Classic, falling to Northern Illinois 2-0 before responding with 2-1 win over Kansas as junior pitcher Emily Watson moved into ninth all-time on Tulsa's all-time career strikeout list with 305.
Watson had a second-straight quality start against Kansas (9-5 overall) as the junior pitcher kept her opponent without a hit through at least the first three innings for the second time in as many days.
