Tulsa women's basketball player Temira Poindexter (Sapulpa, Okla.) was named as the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, while sophomore Wyvette Mayberry (Tulsa, Okla.) was tabbed to the all-conference second team. Poindexter and fellow rookie Delanie Crawford (Piemont, Okla.) were selected to the all-freshmen team.
Poindexter is TU's first women's basketball Freshman of the Year in program history, while Poindexter and Crawford are Tulsa's fourth and fifth AAC all-freshmen team selections and seventh and eighth honorees overall. Mayberry is the fifth AAC all-conference selection and 23rd overall.
Poindexter has started in 18 of 24 games, posting two double-doubles, 15 double-digit scoring games and two double-digit rebounding contests on the season.
