PROVIDENCE, R.I. –– The University of Tulsa's men's track & field teams earned the American Athletic Conference's Team Academic Excellence Award for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, it was announced today by the league office.
The American Athletic Conference annually recognizes the institution in each Conference-sponsored sport with the highest cumulative GPA as the Team Excellence Award-winner.
Tulsa's men's track & field team maintained a 3.361 grade point average.
In addition, a total of 177 Golden Hurricane student-athletes among Tulsa's 17 intercollegiate teams were named to academic all-conference teams.
Rowing leads the way for Tulsa's academic honorees with 25 selections, followed by men's track & field/cross-country with 24, football with 23, men's soccer with 19, softball with 18.
