NEW ORLEANS, La. –– The University of Tulsa's Marc Scott was named the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for indoor track as announced today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The USTFCCA also announced its winners for indoor field, outdoor track and outdoor field events.
Scott, a graduated senior from North Yorkshire, England, had a 3.47 graduate point average in exercise and sports science. He finished in second place in the 5,000-meters and third in the 3,000m at the 2017 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships. Scott is the second Golden Hurricane male athlete to win this honor, joining former collegiate record-holder Chris O'Hare in 2012.
