IRVING, Texas –– For the second consecutive week, a Tulsa Golden Hurricane golfer was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, it was announced today.
Sophomore Lilly Thomas earned the award this week for her performance at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate. A week earlier, junior Lorena Tseng was the league's player of the week.
Thomas turned in a career-best 3rd place performance to lead Tulsa to the team title with rounds of 73-74-70 for a 1-over par 217.
Thomas finished the second round with a 2-over par score of 74 for 9th place and in the final round later in the day shot four strokes better for a 2-under par 70 to finish at 1-over 217 for the tournament.
