Tulsa's Desiree Lewis was named as the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, as announced today by the league office.
Lewis, a forward from Converse, Texas, tied her career-high of 12 points, and added a career-best 10 rebounds for her first double-double in a 63-49 win over Wichita State in the conference opener last week. Lewis also had two assists and two steals in 33 minutes of play, while shooting 55-percent from the field.
Crystal Polk was named to The American Honor Roll. The senior forward from Lawton, Okla., tallied her seventh career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
