IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad wrapped up the first day of the ITA Central Regional on Friday, as the team earned two singles victories and three doubles wins on the first day in Iowa.
Newcomer Megan Hopton started the day off strong for the Golden Hurricane, picking up a decisive victory over Clara Gandara Gonzales of Missouri State, 6-3, 6-1. Hopton would continue her momentum, taking down Cassie McKenzie of St. Louis, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to Saturday's singles main draw.
