Shug Dickson and Erika Wakefield both scored in double-digits as the Golden Hurricane dropped a 78-60 decision to #1 UConn on Thursday night at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. TU fell to 8-11 on the season and 2-4 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Huskies moved to 17-0 overall and 6-0 in the league.
"Our kids hung in there kept fighting, and I am proud of our effort," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said. "We were able to get good looks and hit shots in rhythm. In the second half we slowed down and were more patient, playing a pace we could be more successful compared to the first half when we tried to play their speed.
