Tulsa freshman Greta Bruner won individual medalist honors, while leading the Golden Hurricane to the team championship Tuesday at the Dale McNamara Invitational at the par-70 Tulsa Country Club Course.
Bruner turned in a final round 71 for a score of one-over par 211 and finished with a six-stroke victory over second-place Camille Orito of New Mexico State. The Hurricane team, trailing the Aggies of New Mexico State after Monday's two rounds, overcame the one-stroke deficit for a five-stroke victory.
The win for Bruner was the first tournament victory for a Tulsa freshman since October 2010 when Kristina Merkle won the Johnnie Imes Invitational.
