An undermanned and undersized Tulsa squad with only 8 players dressed for the contest fell 90-65 to the Belmont Bruins Sunday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Belmont (1-1) increased its 13-point halftime lead to 20 points at the end of the third period, out-scoring the Hurricane 24-17 in those 10 minutes, and scored 5 points more than Tulsa in the final quarter, 20-15, for its 25-point win. In the second half, Tulsa got only as close as 13 points with 2:47 remaining in the third quarter, but by the end of the period the Bruins pushed its lead to 20 points and in the final period led by as many as 29 points.
