NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tulsa volleyball team kicked off the Bruiser Showcase with a 1-1 record on Friday against East Tennessee State and host Belmont. The Golden Hurricane fell to ETSU (25-17, 25-21, 25-13), but rebounded with a sweep over Belmont (25-20, 25-14, 25-17).

The Golden Hurricane (2-2) dropped the first match of the Bruiser Showcase to ETSU (3-1) on Friday morning.
Senior Emily Thorson had a hot start to the match, beginning with a kill and two blocks to put Tulsa up early, 5-2.
