LAWRENCE, Kan. –– The University of Tulsa track and field team had six athletes that competed in the preliminary round of the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which took place at the Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan. Junior Luke Traynor recorded a fifth place finish in the men's 10,000-meter, which advances him to the next round in Eugene Ore.
Traynor's teammate, senior Tim Rackers, clocked a 35th place time of 30:48.02 in the same event. Sophomore Ben Preisner registered an 18th place time of 9:00.
